On October 24-25th, the International Congress on Technology and Digital Transformation took place in Lima. This summit event brought together the most influential brands in the regional tech ecosystem and centered on discussing the most disruptive trends and technologies that are transforming companies and society today, as well as the challenges ahead.
The gathering featured over forty speakers who shared their insights on a range of topics, including generative AI, data analytics, cloud services, robotics and automation, Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities, blockchain, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and business management, among others.
In this context, our Head of Technology, Alejandro Alessi, shared the journey of building a conversational interface powered by generative AI. In his talk, “Generative AI & Conversational Interfaces to Transform Experiences,” he covered a real-life case study in which we applied artificial intelligence on our internal chatbot to solve operational queries related to Human Value processes and procedures. He also highlighted the importance of aligning with experience design when crafting this solution:
“An important step was to approach this challenge not just from a technological perspective but also through experience design, given its nature. The language had to be intentionally crafted to be easy to use and to build confidence for any fluxer seeking guidance on significant matters concerning them.”
Alejandro Alessi, Head of Technology
He also emphasized the importance of creating a product with personality and consistency, noting that we tend to interact more naturally with people with whom we feel a sense of closeness and similarity.
Digital Transformation Advances in LATAM
The Latin American region is undergoing a significant digital transformation, rapidly advancing towards a future where technology redefines how companies operate.
The financial industry is leading the way, driven by new market regulations. In Peru specifically, over 50% of people started making payments through digital platforms since the pandemic, according to Infobae. 1
At the same time, the insurance industry is focusing on making insurance tangible for clients during the critical moment of a claim, while adding value through artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, the logistics sector is booming due to the strong rise in online shopping in recent years, with a focus on delivering great experiences (e.g., same-day delivery). The challenge now is to expand this service to new industries, beyond traditional e-commerce.
“Peru is at a key moment of its digital transformation process, with a national agenda aimed at narrowing the connectivity gap and a financial sector leading the way in digital inclusion.”
Gabriel Grifasi, Head of Sales Department
While technology is driving the evolution of products, services, and simplifying operations, the real challenge lies in cultural transformation. It is about how organizations foster the culture needed to equip people with the skills and environment for personal transformation.
One-on-One Meetings with Industry Leaders
As event sponsors, we had the chance to talk with key figures from leading industry companies about topics like digitalization trends, AI and robotics (and the value they bring to various sectors), organizational culture as the key to adapting to and managing change, the importance of delivering not just products but experiences, and the need to humanize technology.
